JOVAN NEO

Jovan expresses himself through his drawings. His doodles usually involves action scenes, vast cities and comic strips. Jovan creates impressive illustrations of imaginary cities as well as familiar and nostalgic buildings in Singapore.

In 1903 Rickshaw Depot, Jovan Neo reimagines the historic landmark with a soft, watercolour touch. Gentle hues and delicate brushwork highlight the building’s red bricks and timeless character, framed by blooming flowers that hint at renewal. His light, fluid style gives the scene a sense of calm reflection — showing how heritage can coexist gracefully with growth and change.

Once the hub for Singapore’s man-powered rickshaws, this depot functioned as the registration and inspection centre for them. After rickshaws were banned in 1947, the building was repurposed for various uses over the decades.
