LESTER TAN

Lester has taken to the use of just a humble pencil to depict detailed scenes of everyday life. He pairs the simple medium of black graphite on paper, with rather quiet and calm landscapes and compositions.

In Doric Colonnade of Fullerton Hotel, Lester transforms a familiar architectural landmark into a bold study of geometry and movement. Using acrylic in striking reds, blues, yellows, and blacks, he reinterprets the classical columns with a modern, almost Mondrian-inspired rhythm. His abstract composition captures both structure and energy — a visual dialogue between order and dynamism that reimagines the Fullerton’s elegance in contemporary form.

The row of tall Doric-style columns at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore was part of its original neoclassical design, creating a grand and formal entrance. These columns contribute to the building’s stately presence and remain a striking visual feature today.
