IRFAN RAYYAN

Irfan enjoys doodling cartoon characters. He also creates art pieces in bold, inky lines. Irfan likes to include subtle details in his drawings, even for the most mundane of subjects.

In Eden Hall, Irfan distils the stately British residence into sharp lines and confident contrasts. His minimalist use of black ink against a field of serene green transforms the colonial façade into a study of rhythm, proportion, and space. The restrained palette and crisp geometry evoke quiet strength — a reflection on structure, balance, and how architecture can hold both history and simplicity in the same frame.

Built in 1904 for Ezekiel Saleh Manasseh, a prominent Jewish merchant and businessman, and designed by architect R. A. J. Bidwell, Eden Hall now serves as the official residence of the British High Commissioner in Singapore. Its façade features Wedgwood-style reliefs and elegant verandas.
