Selena illustrates whimsical subjects like birds and botanicals. Her keen attention to detail enables her to create many intricate art pieces in ink and colored pencils. Selena’s artwork, “Birds of a Feather #1”, has also inspired renowned artist, Ernest Zacharevic, to create a beautiful 3-storey tall mural at the Enabling Village.

In 1920s Joo Chiat Peranakan Façade, Selena captures the timeless beauty of shophouses through delicate pastel tones and meticulous detail. Her composition balances soft pinks and greens with rhythmic tile patterns, echoing the elegance and vibrancy of Peranakan heritage. The artwork feels both nostalgic and fresh — a celebration of craftsmanship, culture, and the enduring charm of Singapore’s eastside.

Built in the 1920s, the colourful Peranakan homes of Joo Chiat are known for their intricate tiles, carved wooden panels and pastel tones. Each house reflects the artistry and pride of its owners, blending Chinese, Malay and European influences that capture the spirit of Singapore’s multicultural heritage.
